Blox Fruits update 30 is nearly here, and its trailer and showcase revealed a new mechanic that’s going to change how you explore the early game islands. The Blox Fruits Island Secrets are an incentive to get to to look closely at the revamped islands, because there are fun new objectives and rich rewards out there if you can find them. And we ARE going to find them. This guide is a spot for all the information we can gather about every Island Secret, and we’re going to be adding info throughout the update weekend.
Blox Fruits Island Secrets
Now, onto the important stuff.
What Are Island Secrets?
Island Secrets are a new mechanic that comes with Update 30, and currently are focused around the First Sea. They’re a set of secret three objectives found in each island in the sea, and each gives a special task to do. They might be a special combat session, helping an NPC, completing a puzzle… all kinds of things to give you a break from killing ten bandits.
Blox Fruits Island Secrets Locations
Here we’re recording what islands have Island Secrets, and what the secrets are. We’ll be fleshing out the objectives live at the time Update 30 drops, so make sure to drop in then as we add more content.
Pirate Village Island
There are three Island Secrets in Pirate Village.
Secret OneSecret one is found behind a door near the square in Pirate Village. You should see the saloon door shaking. Head inside to find some pirates causing trouble for the tavern owner inside. Wipe the floor with the misbehaving pirates then speak to the owner NPC for your reward. This was the first Island Secret revealed, showing in the showcase video.
Secret TwoUnlock this by cutting the ropes holding the sails of the windmill over the town square. You’ll need to jump up and slice the five ropes with a cutting weapon.
Secret ThreeThis secret seems to tie into the Chef boss, found on the balcony on the upper level of the island. You’ll need to activate, and probably fight a powered up form of the boss.
Pirate Starting Island
There are no Island Secrets on the Pirate Starting Island.
Marine Starting Island
There are no Island Secrets on the Marine Starting Island.
Jungle
There are three Island Secrets in the Jungle area, spread across both islands in the group.
Secret OneThe Adventurer in the middle of the lake is complaining that a monkey stole his hat, and that it’s hiding in one of the trees. You need to find a tree with footprints leading up to it, then hit it with your fists to make the monkey fall out. Then fight the hat monkey to get it. Finally, bring the hat back to the Adventurer.
Secret TwoYou can find a big green button on one of the large trees near the dock. Maybe find a way to press it…
Secret ThreeOn Gorilla Boss island, you can find a tree with a platform on. On the ground at the bottom is a Grappling Hook. Pick it up and head up to the platform. Equip the Grappling Hook and try to throw it across to connect the zipline to the main island.
Desert Island
There are three Island Secrets on the Desert Island.
Secret OneApproach the stone circle near the big pyramid and hit each stone several times with a weapon to knock the sand off and reveal the hidden symbols underneath. When all are clear, a bit plate should rise from the ground. Go speak to the Desert Merchant.
Secret TwoThe Desert Merchant, found in the village area, asks you to look for his friend Hasan, who disappeared somewhere near the pyramid. You can get into a pyramid by finding a small patch of lower, darker patch of dirt between a cactus and a fence near the corner of the pyramid closest to the village. It may have a treasure chest on it. Jump on it to fall through. Follow the passage into the pyramid and you’ll find Hasan being hassled by Desert Skeletons (Level 50). Take out all five to save Hasan and complete the objective.
Secret ThreeOnce you’ve helped Hasan head back to the Desert Merchant and select the ‘Prickly Harvest’ dialogue option. (Some players are reporting this may be related to time spent on the island, so if it is not unlocked, you may want to try waiting for a little while.) He will ask you to collect Cactus Flowers. You do this by breaking 10 Cacti around the island, each will give you one Cactus Flower Petal. Once you have them all, bring thme back to the merchant, who will give you the levels, and a Lava Potion.
Middle Town
There are three Island Secrets in Middle Town.
Secret OneSpeak to the Experienced Captain NPC by the broken cart in Middle Town, and as about ‘Lookout Duty’. A lot of time he’ll tell you to come back later. Eventually, you should get to go on Lookout Duty, though.
Secret TwoPunch trees around Middle Town until you find a treasure map. Follow the clues on the map to locate other map pieces, and they’ll eventually lead you to treasure… or at least a treasure chest with something inside.
Secret ThreeBreak the window at the top of the cart behind the Experienced Captain (The one on the left.) If you go in at the right time, you should be able to speak to Indra, the dev.
Mob Island
There are three Island Secrets on Mob Island.
Frozen Village Island
There are three Island Secrets on Frozen Village Island.
Secret OneHead into the large cave at the front of the island. Inside you’ll find the Ability Teacher NPC encased in ice. Smash the ice with melee attacks to break him out.
Secret TwoWait until it begins snowing on the island then head up to the Yeti Boss Area/Snowman area. You should find some piles of snow spawning in. Run into the piles to start forming a snowball. Push the ball around, gathering snow until it reaches it maximum size. Do this with two more snowballs, then push them together to create a snowman.
Secret ThreeYou need to beat the upgraded Yeti boss. This only spawns occasionally. Speak to the Secrets Master in Middle Town to ask ‘Which boss stirs next?’ If he tells you the Yeti, then the stronger version is active.
Marine Fortress Island
There are three Island Secrets on Marine Fortress Island.
Secret OneTalk to the NPC named Parlus inside the room on the front right tower on the island. (Facing from the dock direction.) Select the dialogue ‘What’s with the empty flagpole?’ He will give you a quest to find the rope and raise the flag. You can find the rope by an empty shop stall on the other side of the island. Once you have it, head to the flagpole at the front and interact with it. You need to stay in the highlighted circle until the flag is up. The marines will fire cannons at you, so do your best to avoid that. Once it’s up, go speak to Parlus.
Secret TwoYou need to wait for the marine fleet to arrive at the island, then attack them with their own cannons.
Secret ThreeYou need to defeat a stronger version of the Vice Admiral. This will only be available sometimes. Check with the Secrets Master in Middle Town.
Skylands
There are three Island Secrets in the Skylands, spread across multiple small sky islands.
Secret OneSpeak to the Angel Knight, who is stood behind the building at the far end of the top of the village near the top of the Skylandds and complete his quest to retrieve the Skylands’ riches.
Prison Island
You’ll find three Island Secrets on Prison Island.
Secret OneThe Jail Keeper wants you to apprehend three prisoners who are in the process of escaping. You’ll find one trying to break through the outer wall. One on one of the grassy areas digging a tunnel, and one on the shore building a raft. Defeat each of them to complete the quest.
Secret TwoYou can find several colored levers in the main keep, which appear to connect to a large gate upstairs. The colored planks next to them appear to denote the order you need to hit them in.
Colosseum Island
There are three Island Secrets on Colosseum Island.
Secret OneSpeak to the Colosseum Emperor, who stands on a balcony over the area. He will challenge you to face his gladiators. There are three rounds. One vs two Gladiators. One vs two Gladiators and an Upgraded Gladiator, with the final round being up against three Gladiators, two Upgraded Gladiators, and one Supreme Gladiator. Beat all the waves and speak to the Emperor again to get your XP.
Secret TwoHit the four statues out front with the correct weapon type. (Sword, Gun, First and Fruit.)
Magma Village
There are three Island Secrets in Magma Village.
Secret OneIn a lava pool near the dock, you should see a large crater that is spitting out Mini Lava Elementals which are attacking nearby trees and setting them on fire. Attack this crater a few times and it will turn into a big Lava Elemental. Fight it, and finish off the small ones to complete the objective. Go to The Mayor for a reward.
Secret TwoThe Living Skeleton asks you to stop the drill inside of Volcano Cave, accessed through a mine entrance around the back edge of the island.
Underwater City
There are three Island Secrets in Underwater City. You will need to access the area first via the Whirlpool.
Secret OneYou can find several yellow crystals to the right of the entrance to the boss room, around the side of the building. You need to direct the beam through the crystals by pushing them into the right spot, directing them towards the nearby wall with a see urchin on. If the beam hits the urchin, the wall will break and reveal the Water Trainer.
Secret TwoJump into one of the streams of bubbles rising off the city to be transported to the Hidden Cove where a cursed chest awaits.
Upper Skylands
You can find three Island Secrets in the Upper Skylands. You need to access the area through a portal in Skylands.
Secret OneSpeak to the Sky Quest Giver 2 NPC on the second island in the Upper Skylands and select the quest ‘The Ancient Temple’. He’ll ask you to retrieve some info from inside the big pyramid temple closeby. You enter by blowing up the blocks barring the doorways at the front of the pyramid at the bottom of the steps. Once inside you’ll see a ring of devices. You need to hit them to turn each of them so the beams they put out all project in a circle, joining them all up. After that, you’ll need to leave the temple with the intel. A storm will start and lightning will hit the ground during the runback. You can get your reward, and clear the storm again, by speaking to the NPC.
Fountain City
There are three Island Secrets hidden in Fountain City.
Secret OneClimb up onto the watery tier of the central tower. You should see a ship stuck in the side of it. You should also see a bunch of leaking water pipes. Hit the loose sections of pipe with a ranged attack (I used the Light Fruit’s Light Ray, but this took a while.) until they line up with the surrounding pipes and turn green. Once all the sections are aligned, run over to the ship and hop on as the water pressure fires it out into the sea. You just unlocked the Grand Brigade ship! Make sure to also go back to the Fountain City quest giver for your XP.
Island Secret Rewards
There are three different rewards for completing different Island Secrets.
Secret-Specific Rewards
These particular rewards come from the NPC connected to the Secret in question, or are found while pursuing the Secret itself. This can be potions, access to an NPC, or, in one case, a new ship.
Secret Levels
Once you’ve completed an Island Secret, you can return to the island’s Quest Giver. They will reward you with additional levelling XP. (Sometimes the NPC you got the quest on will award the XP instead, make sure to check where the star icon is.) I know, you might be reading that and thinking ‘Oh, XP, like I get from every bandit I punch, big deal.’ This is different. Levels you gain from Island Secrets can go beyond the level cap. Post-Update 30, if you beat all the objectives, you’ll be able to go as high as Level 3000.
Teleporter
The final reward is more of a convenience than anything. Once you’ve completed all three of the Island Secrets for a specific item, you unlock it as a teleport location, accessible through the new teleporter found in Middle Town. This is pretty convenient as it lets you get around instantly…especially handy for events.
FAQ
We want to make this guide of ours as comprehensive as possible, so this covers everything that we think might be helpful that we didn’t fully cover above.
- When do Island Secrets arrive?
- Island Secrets come with Update 30, which arrives on Saturday 5th of September at 3:00pm BST.
- Where did you get your info?
- Most of our pre-release information comes from the Blox Fruits Update 30 trailer. We have been peering closely at every cut and pausing on frames to try and make out the important details. This video also has the showcase we used to put together our guide on the Magnet Fruit.
- Are you updating this with all the locations?
- Yes. We’ll be on top of this as soon as the update drops, and adding in all the Island Secret locations as we find them, so expect new live updates throughout Saturday post-release.
- Will there be Island Secrets for the Second Sea and Third Sea?
- While there’s nothing officially confirmed for this, we can pretty confidently assume there will be. If not at the time of the update, sometime in future updates. 30 seems to be pretty focused on giving the slightly neglected First Sea some love, so we expect to see the rest arriving a bit later.
- Why is there a face in the sky pre-update?
- We’re glad you asked. We have an article about that.
Hope this has helped you out with the Blox Fruits Island Secrets. If anything is missing right now, it’s probably because we’re still testing or fact-finding in-game. Please do check back from time to time, as you should find new info added.
