The second progress update article for Containment Breach: Inclemency.

Posted by meowlnir.mkv on Sep 11th, 2026

Hi, everyone. meowlnir.mkv here, the main and only developer of Containment Breach: Inclemency.

This is an update post concerning the previous one, and the future of Containment Breach: Inclemency (CB:I) as a whole.

The mod's doing alright now. It's been moved to a different engine, the same one used by Containment Breach v1.3.12.x on Steam, and is working very, very well. Due to Inclemency being a v1.3.12.x modification, and the engine developer not wishing to further support v1.3.12.x as a whole due to it's use of a competitor engine and its features, you can likely see how the two didn't want to play very well together. Luckily, the engine version used by v1.3.12.x on Steam has been publicly released, and frankly, has saved the mod. I was planning on ditching the mod entirely because of that debacle, to be honest.

Speaking of v1.3.12.x, the Steam Workshop edition of CB:I has received its final update. I know that I said in my first article that I would also update the Workshop edition, but it's become too much of a hassle as I'm trying my hardest to focus on developing the ModDB edition of the mod.

Now, onto the meat and potatoes. I've made some new additions and changes to the mod since the last update post, so here's a changelog of some of the new important additions so far since then.

- Removal of all custom lightmaps due to various issues, mainly file size bloat.
- Custom breathing sound effects and an expanded sound system for them.
- Grunts and screams when being damaged and killed respectively.
- Sound effects when entering and exiting the pause menu.
- A highly expanded inventory sound effects system, including a new sound effect category for cards & badges and different sound effects for different inventory interactions, such as opening or closing the inventory, moving an item into a clipboard or wallet, changing an item's battery, etc.
- Several sound effect and texture remasters/changes.
- Further polish for the features shown in the last progress update post.

Showcase video: (Excuse the audio quality, video uploads seem to compress it.)

Lots of variety here. Hoping to make the audio experience a bit less repetitive.

Lastly, my morale's started to dwindle quite a bit. I'm not gonna give off a big sob story and vent my heart out in a ModDB article, but all that you need to know is that it's definitely affected CB:I. I'm likely going to take a break from further mod development until I'm able to find my footing once again.

A standalone release is not planned yet at this time due to the lack of unique features.

Thanks for reading. I love you guys. I hope you stick around to see where Inclemency goes next.
