While Bungie has said that content support for Destiny 2 is over, that doesn’t mean they’ll stop working on the game completely.

Today, Bungie has taken the Destiny 2 servers down on October 20 across all platforms, and this is to bring patch 9.7.0.6.

Update: The latest patch is out and it’s causing a bit of a stir within the community.

Tuesday, October 20 2026 — Update 9.7.0.6

Players can expect to log in around 10 am PT/1 pm ET, though there are times when the maintenance period takes longer.

Expect a round of fixes to be applied, though don’t expect anything major, as the game is essentially done in its state.

The good news is, Bungie has promised new stories and games in the Destiny franchise, so there’s a lot more Destiny in our future.
