Crytek has recently released the major 2.9 update for Hunt: Showdown 1896 this week, but the studio has today pushed out a new game update to resolve some key issues.

Console gamers will see patch 2.9.0.1 as Hunt: Showdown 1896 update 1.000.050 and this is a small download that implements a hotfix.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 Hotfix on September 10 Re-enables Legendary Hex Breaker

This hotfix includes:

– Fixes for several game crashes
– Re-enabling the Legendary Hunters Hex Breaker, Corvid: Bile, and Corvid: Brood
– Unlocking LeMat High Velocity Ammo by default

In case you haven’t logged in this week, the big 2.9 patch added the following:

New Stuff

  • Blood Moon: New dynamic nighttime phases that affect visibility and monster behavior.
  • Burgess Shotgun: New 6-round long-barrel shotgun with Bayonet and Trauma variants.
  • LeMat High Velocity: New custom ammo type.
  • Siphon Trait: Steal a Scarce Trait from a dead Hunter.
  • Chupacabra Trait: Restore 1 Health Chunk by interacting with certain animals.
  • Traits in Custom Loadouts: Loadouts can now include up to 15 Traits.
  • Hunter Slots: Increased from 75 → 100.

Gameplay & Balance

  • Hunting Bow: Reduced one-hit range and quick-shot damage.
  • LeMat & Officer: Reduced reserve ammunition.
  • Terminus: Damage increased 186 → 207, spread reduced 40 → 30.
  • Slugs: Price reduced 65 → 40 Hunt Dollars.
  • Tool/Consumable prices: Several costs adjusted.
  • Hidden Locations: Supply Points, Scout Towers and Extraction Points are hidden by default; discovery radius increased to 75m.
  • Monster Changes: Blood Moon makes most monsters faster and more aggressive.
  • MMR: New returning-player and new-player difficulty modifiers smooth out matchmaking.

Other

  • Numerous bug fixes, exploit fixes, stability improvements, UI fixes and monster fixes.

Hopefully, gamers won’t neeed to wait as long for another major update.
