Insomniac Games is reportedly still working on its unannounced Marvel’s Venom project, according to a new update from insider NateTheHate.
Venom was introduced in the second Spider-Man game from Insomniac Games. Unlike the comics, where Venom is typically portrayed as the malevolent Symbiote that possesses Eddie Brock, the game presents the Symbiote as a cure for an ailment affecting Harry Osborn. As a result, in the Insomniac universe, Harry Osborn becomes Venom.

Insomniac Is Reportedly Still Working on a Venom Game
Long-standing rumors suggest a dedicated Venom title is in development. However, after the passing of Tony Todd, who voiced the character, Miles Morales’s voice actor suggested that the game had been canceled. Despite this, industry insider NateTheHate added to the conflicting reports, saying on Twitter that the game is still in development.

Of course, Marvel and Insomniac are currently focused on the Wolverine video game, which is slated for release in a little over a week. On September 15, Insomniac will release its take on Logan to the universe, potentially setting the stage for a larger X-Men video game release.
Still, there are plans for a Spider-Man 3, so perhaps we haven’t seen the last of Insomniac’s Venom, regardless of whether or not he gets his own game.
Insider Gaming will continue to monitor the story and report any updates as more information becomes available. Are you still hopeful for a potential Venom video game? What would you like to see from that game? Sound off about this story and all others in our official Discord server.
