RuneScape plans an engine upgrade, Havenhythe Part 2, and a ‘deep clean update

RuneScape is back once again with another monthly roadmap post, and this September appears to be a pretty important one for the MMORPG and for the team at Jagex as well.

We’ll cover the plans specific to the sandbox first, which start with an upgrade to the game’s engine arriving next week, which might not change much on the face of the game but promise Vulkan support and earlier discussed limit increases for player houses. A couple of weeks later, on September 21st, there will be a “Deep Clean update” aimed at tackling “little niggles that can contribute to a feeling of drag and clutter day to day” like visual eyesores, icon unity, and login message spam. Finally, the week of September 28th brings the Havenhythe Part 2 quest.

As for other events occurring for Jagex, there’s of course the upcoming RuneFest event happening on October 3rd and the 1.0 release of survivalbox RuneScape: Dragonwilds on September 15th. We get that at least one of those things isn’t happening on September proper, but it’s close enough to the team’s weekly list of things that happen. Click the image below for the month’s look ahead.
