As expected, after rolling out the Chemical Leak update for The Outlast Trials a few days ago, Red Barrels has now pushed out a new game update fixing some issues that surfaced from the content drop.

The Outlast Trials update 1.65/1.000.063 is live on consoles and PC, and this brings changes to Escalation, alongside other gameplay-related community concerns.

Note that this is a hotfix, so don’t expect a long changelog, but what’s been rolled out is something players should find important.

The Outlast Trials Hotfix on September 11 Removes Perma Damage and No Revive From Ultra II in Escalation

The confirmed list of fixes for today include:

  • Escalation: Removed Permanent Damage and No Revive from the Ultra II variator in Escalation. We plan to revisit these modifiers later as part of a broader rebalance of the Escalation flow and difficulty curve.
  • Fixed an issue where the Kress Twins document could be acquired outside of the Fund the Campaign MK-Challenge.
  • Fixed an issue where audio was missing from shuttle videos during shuttle sequences on console.
  • Fixed and issue where it was possible to get stuck in the main menu/loading screen.
  • Fixed input binding for players using AZERTY keyboards

Again, don’t be surprised if we receive another hotfix or two in the coming days and weeks, as such has been the case with these major updates.
